Tic Toc Goes the Clock…

College is a time where time becomes a very valuable resource. With that, I have made a bulletin on tips of how to save time so you can have more time to do whatever you may need. This bulletin had 21 different tips of different areas to help you save some time. Some of these are about saving time with: studies, organization, social life, etc. I hope these come in handy to save you all some time and stress, for I know I try to save as much as I can. Fun fact: recent research has shown that 1:42 PM is the start of the most stressful time of the day. Thus why the clock is at 1:42 PM. If you let me know which one you enjoy, I will reward you with a piece of candy.

16 Things it Took Me 50+ Years to Learn

Hey all! I got a new bulletin that has some things that it took Dave Berry, a writer and humorist, 50+ years to learn. Though some of these are more just funny, there is some good advice in there to thing about. Some of which can make your life a little easier. I hope you find some good information from this and some humor as well. If you stop by and tell me your favorite one, I will reward you with a piece of candy!

Calendar

There is a calendar that is in the wing to: 1. show you what events are happening 2. to take up some of the empty wall space. This calendar is to help show what is happening so you can expect most publicity to go. This can be found near room 103. The lobby will have the most publicity that you can find about what is happening around campus, but this calendar is a good place to start. Check it out every once in a while, you never know when publicity will be put up.

Resources

Hello all! I have a resource board that is up to: 1. provide some good pamphlets for your use if you need some resources 2. use some of the empty wall space that wall has. This can be found next to the microwave room. The resources are the more commonly used ones, though there are many more resources on campus! I am happy to help point any of you in the right direction if you need the help. Each resource has the hall that it is in written on it.. There are some other miscellaneous resources and a map of the bus route for Platteville as well. I hope this is also useful for you all! Thank you to Sean for the recommendation for how to out up the pamphlets.

Final Exam Study Tips

It is approaching that (stressful time) of the semester… finals. I have put up a board that has a number of pointers that could be useful. The beautiful thing is that this bulletin provides a lot of suggestions, so you can pick what best suits you! Hopefully this will help make studying less stressful. Good luck everyone!

Class Registration 101

It’s that time of the semester, class registration. I can definitely say that I struggled with this the first time I did it. That’s why I made a bulletin about it! It includes steps on how what I have learned is the best way to do this, without taking too many extra steps, as well as just some good pointers on what to do. Added bonus: if you ask me why the board is in Ramsey Beckman’s honor, you will get an answer as well as a small reward! I hope this is helpful to some of you!

Free Textbooks!

Around campus, in most major academic buildings, there are tables set up that have free textbooks! Three of these locations include: Ottensman basement, the lower floor lobby of Boebel, and by the music rooms in the Northeast part of Doudna. Most of the books at each location are subjects that “fit” what subjects the building usually has taught there. Check them out, it’s a great way to find a textbook of something that you studying, or interested in. They are in limited supply, so check them out soon! I have included three pictures of the three places that I mentioned in the respective order.

E-accounts

I had a resident who had a question about how to do laundry. With traditional halls, laundry is done using your passport. To start, you will need passport funds. To add them, go to: https://www.uwplatt.edu/passport/e-accounts and click on e-accounts login. You can also download the map and make payments through the app. You will see on the left is your balance for dining and passport funds. You will want to click on the blue hyperlink that says Add Funds+ for passport and follow the instructions. It will ask for an amount you want to add.  And from there, go to credit card, debit cards also work, and add your card information. The CVV code is on the back of the card. Next, when you add billing information, use the billing address, which is usually your home address. From there it’ll ask for confirmation and then once you continue, it’ll say the payment is successful or has failed. If it has failed, check your card information, or call your bank to see if they are blocking the payment. I hope this helps! There will be a program on Thursday night (September 7th) about how to do laundry for those who are new to it.
